Following and Sharing Data
The core mechanic of the Social tab is the "Follow" system. It allows for mutual transparency regarding daily health entries.
To begin building your network, utilize the dedicated Friends page, accessible via the button in the upper-right corner of the Social tab. From this management hub, you can:
- Search for specific users by their registered email address to send follow invitations.
- Review and accept incoming requests from users who wish to follow your journey.
- Manage your active "Followers" and the list of people you are currently "Following."
- Access your block list to manage restricted accounts.
How Following Works
When you follow a friend, and they accept your connection request, their daily logged activities are securely integrated into your viewing environment. This includes their recorded data for:
- Poop and Pee entries: Track the timing and standard Bristol Scale types of your connections.
- Habits: See when your friends complete custom daily routines, offering a great way to maintain mutual accountability for things like water intake or exercise.
- Menstruation cycles: For partners or family members tracking reproductive health, this shared data can facilitate better communication and support.
The Shared Calendar Experience
You do not need to navigate away from your primary workflow to see your friends' updates. Once connected, your friends' data points are seamlessly overlaid onto your main Interactive Calendar. This unified view allows you to see your personal tracking history right alongside the activities of the people you follow, providing a comprehensive timeline of your shared network's health habits.
On the main Social tab, you have access to a calendar that mirrors your personal Register tab. However, utilizing the selection tool, you can choose exactly which friend's data you want to populate on this shared calendar, allowing you to review their logged milestones.
Note on Interactions: Currently, to maintain a calm and pressure-free tracking environment, the social feed is entirely read-only. There are no notification pings when a friend logs an entry, and there is no native commenting or "like" system, though these community interaction features are being evaluated for future updates.
Privacy and Consent
Because digestive health is sensitive, the entire Social feature is strictly opt-in. You can completely disable social capabilities by navigating to Settings > Social. Furthermore, there is absolutely no "public feed" or public visibility; your data can only be seen by users you explicitly approve.
Sharing health data is a significant decision, and the Happy Poop architecture is built around absolute user consent and strict privacy controls.
Mutual Consent
Data sharing is never automatic or unilateral. If you wish to view a friend's calendar, you must send a follow request. Your friend must explicitly approve this request before any historical or future data is transmitted to your device. Likewise, if a friend wants to see your data, you are entirely in control of approving or denying their request from your Social tab dashboard.
Selective Data Sharing
Happy Poop provides granular control over what you share. For every individual follower you approve, you can independently toggle exactly which categories of data they are permitted to view on their calendar. You can choose to share your habits and pee logs, but restrict your poop and menstruation logs. Additionally, you have a specific toggle to prevent a follower from viewing any photographic pictures you have attached to your entries.
Revoking Access
You maintain perpetual ownership of your visibility. If you decide you no longer want a specific user to view your calendar and daily logs, you can remove them from your followers list at any time with a single tap. Their access to your data will be immediately and permanently revoked.
Expanding the Community Experience
The Happy Poop community is highly engaged, and the ways users interact with each other are constantly evolving based on platform feedback.
By establishing your network now, you will be perfectly positioned to take advantage of these deeper social interaction tools as they are rolled out to the platform.
