Who I Am

Hello, my name is Gilson Nascimento — a Computer Science graduate (2012) and the sole creator and developer of Happy Poop. I always wanted to build apps that genuinely help people, but it took the right idea to get me started.

The idea for Happy Poop came during a conversation with my wife, who mentioned it would be useful to have an app to record and control bowel movements — helpful both for people with digestive conditions and anyone curious about improving their health habits. She was the very first user of the app and has supported its development every step of the way.

After an initial version developed for Android in 2019, I decided that 2021 would be the year I'd see it through to completion. I rewrote everything in Flutter and on September 5, 2021, Happy Poop launched on the Google Play Store. The iOS version followed shortly after. Today the app is available on iOS, Android, Galaxy Store, Amazon Appstore, Huawei AppGallery, and more — with 35 language localizations.

The mission of Happy Poop is and will always be: to help people, providing serious and quality free content, respecting user privacy, and improving continuously — with a good sense of humour about the subject.

About Casa do Zéps: The name is a pun my wife invented — it means "House of Apps" (Zéps = Apps in Portuguese slang), because all development is done from home, not a company. It's a one-person indie studio, built with care.
